If you watched the Bbc coverage of the Shrewsbury game you’d never know after the match that there was a blatant handball that could’ve given Salop the winner. Bizarre given how long they normally agonise over VAR on MOTD. Double standards - just like the lack of VAR to award it, as it would’ve.

Well, the current UK system is to the left of anyone's plans in the current US field. I don't believe Sanders is talking about nationalising the hospitals, for example. Using Johnson is obviously disingenuous, but I don't think there's a single UK politician who has explicitly talked about moving the NHS to a position as market oriented as anyone in the Democratic field. Of course, the Tory Party wants to achieve exactly that, but none of them dare say so.

Critics see this as too defensive, at the expense of journalistic excellence, most glaringly in the 10 O’Clock News. There the excellence of the likes of Bowen, Sopel, Kuenssberg, Adler and others is done a disservice by a concern for bogus balance, intrusive and distracting graphics, and unchallenging and personality-led stories.
