Well, this has 'Wow' written all over it. Epstein / Prince Andrew / Dershowitz accuser Virginia Giuffre has stated she 'may have been mistaken' in accusing Dershowitz. She has dropped her accusations. In a demonstration of unbelievable magnanimity, he acknowledges she 'may have been mistaken' and is dropping his suit. With prejudice and no damages.

    The wording is just...read it.

I don't have tine to go through this right now, but keep in mind that the charges against each of those people were different - not only the crimes charged, but the number of counts and (perhaps most importantly) whether they were charged in state or federal court.

    Cosby - 3 to 10 years, overturned
    Maxwell - 20 years
    Weinstein - 23 years
    Kelly - 30 years
    Sandusky - 30 to 60 years
    Nassar - 60 years + 40 to 175 years (sentences consecutive)

His sentence is 50% longer than Maxwell's.

He's been locked up since 2019, but this is now full time career jail.

That isn't something that prosecutors would ever confirm or deny, but at the same time it would be extremely unusual if the possibility was not at least raised at some point during each of the phases of the proceeding (before charge, before trial and after sentencing).

Do we even know if she and her legal team were given a 'reduced sentence in exchange for the names' offer?

This presumes she was even asked. There seems to be no appetite, beyond the public, to find and name anyone else who was involved. And one gets the sense that there were a few, and we'd know them.

That 'apology' was dire. No ownership at all, with a smattering of 'terrible things were done'.

Some would argue that her old boyfriends suicide watch was very effective.

20 years is pitifully short. She's been in jail for two years so far and the media is already spouting nonsense about her helping other prisoners with yoga and reading. I reckon with time served and "good behaviour" she could be out in 6-8 years, before she's 70 years old.

Meanwhile, she provided precisely zero useful information that could have identified any of her clients, and made a very weak apology to her victims, but forced them to go through the trauma of a full trial.

She faces a separate charge for lying under oath during Epstein's trial.

Likelihood that any of her clients see jail time is the question.

But I think we know the answer to that...

    Relatively small, I'd think.

She is very much the type of prisoner who would be released on compassionate grounds before her demise and is going to be under a more effective suicide watch than her old boyfriend.

I can't believe it's taken so long. I wonder how many other positions he holds. Nobody wants a nonce as a patron.

    Thanks for pointing that out.

He's being sued for £40 million, wow.

It looks like him and his family have taken millions from this.
