from the most recent of the many Tripadvisor reviews of Pizza Express Woking:

No problems getting served - unlike my posh pal Andy who has a peculiar knack of disappearing every time someone attempts to serve him, not that it ever causes him to break a sweat.

The High Court ruling against Andrew today seems like huge news.

        Is it?

It was only a matter of time before Giuffre's counsel were able to overcome their persnickety approach to the Hague Convention Rules.

He was never going to avoid this suit on procedural grounds.

Though presumably, as they are pursuing this now, the New York has indicated that giving them papers to a police officer wasn't actually sufficient and they are, as yet, unserved. Or are they simply doubling their options here and the that may yet count as serving them?

The New York court hasn't ruled on the validity of the service already effected,

This is just preserving options and short-circuiting objections.

Peter Nygard to be charged in Canada, and will be extradited to the US to face his charges there. Ah well.

Barclays will be super happy about the choice of background.

Defence rests after calling only four witnesses (not including Maxwell).

                              Closing statements begin Monday.

The story behind the commissioning of that piece must have been interesting

Just read and article in today's Times which seems to suggest the prosecution focused too much on exposing Epstein and not Maxwell's involvement, which is harder to prove. The part where it is revealed to one of Epstein's ex's from the 80s, who was defending his innocence, that he had framed photos of her teenage daughters on his bookcase was as dark as humour can get.

There seems to be a rather organised campaign in the English press to talk up her case, perhaps because there is virtually no public support for her here.

The search actually brings up 4 articles defending her, 3 of them from the last couple of months, all in the Spectator.

I wonder if there's still some legacy journalists in the UK press who got their break in journalism thanks to the Maxwell clan, and who're still willing to offer them support. Or whether the Spectator just has a lot of "there but for the grace of god..." creepy old men on their books.

Thrilled! I was really worried when the jury asked for the testimony of the 'false memories' expert.

Providing further evidence of the essential unpredictability of US juries, the count on which she was found not quality was arguably the least consequential of the six.
