Fascism (and racism) in western Europe

    https://www.independent.co.uk/news/w...t-a8978836.htm

Mayor of Grenoble shuts city swimming pools after local police fine women for wearing Burkinis.

The mayor of Grenoble is a member of the French Green Party.

    (And a racist bigot.)

        German report is here

Luebcke (recently murdered, in all probability by the far right) was on the list.

Threats to a lawyer who worked on the NSU case identified as coming from a Frankfurt police station

By which I mean- the German report shows an orgainsed network of the far right with membership inside the police that have begun targeted assassinations of political opponents- using police computers to gather information.

              Wrong.

              Murder of Blair Peach.

              Orgreave

Gunning down of Jean Charles de Menezes.

Statutory rape of female activists by undercover police officers.

              Your go.

Murder of Blair Peach was 40 years ago. It was as far as I know opportunist thuggery rather than targeted assassination,

De Menezes was mistaken identity -and a coverup. orgreave was the government using police violence and the courts to break a strike.

The statutory rape by undercover police officers in sexual relationships with women who didn’t know their real identity was also a failure of police leadership and management.

what happened in Germany is far right penetration of the police stealing weapons and information for targeted assassinations of political opponents. there’s a qualitative difference imo.

Nef, I don't think you need the "in all probability" any longer.

Ernst has confessed and his far right connections are very clear.

To his neighbors, Stephan Ernst seemed like an upstanding citizen with a wife, children and a small house with a pointed gable. They had no idea that Ernst had spent 20 years in the neo-Nazi scene, that he had once tried to plant a pipe bomb at a hostel for asylum-seekers or that he had beaten a migrant bloody in prison.

Ernst's last job was at a manufacturer for railway technology as a shift worker. He was reserved and apparently got along best with an Iranian colleague.

Stephan Ernst's other life, which he lived online, was vastly different. There, he consumed far-right extremist propaganda, according to investigators. In some forums, he is purported to have issued explicit threats.

I guess we also had a far right activist killing a politician.
