Anyway, utterly fucking ridiculous. Time to do away with juries...
I'm not sure the occasional verdict you think is wrong is a good enough reason to do away with juries.
Funny to think what a massive principle it was considered when Labour took away opting for jury trial from some cases. No-one seems to care much about that now.
After all the shredding, all the deleting and all the hiding of laptops behind bins, not one person is guilty of attempting to pervert the course of justice?

Really?
Charlie Brooks said he was embarrassed he had porn on the computer and a novel.
I mean, I'd do exactly the same. Run like fuck from the police.

You're making the mistake of thinking that they actually care how it looks.
I've always been of the opinion you can judge someone's character by the calibre of their friends.*
And with friends like these, I, for one, will also defend Mr Coulson against anyone impugning his character.

8 women 3 men, apparently. Probably explains persistent references to Brooks IVF the police raid upsetting the baby and Carter confusing MI5 and MFI
Tabloid editors know how to write a story.
One question for our legal visitors. One of the meetings at one of the Cotswold houses was after/ continuing coaching for the select committee ( the one where Brooks said they paid Police officers). Did that not given an opportunity to discuss a the select committee and b coaching? Why were neither of those lines adopted?

"Well, they were clearly destroying evidence, but only for the best of motives - not guilty."
That isn't how criminal trials work, is it? You can't assume the worst, you have to prove they were doing it for that reason. It always sounded like the prosecution case against Wade was in trouble when they were bringing 'She must have known through pillow talk' into it.
Civil actions on the other hand...
People have settled with News International, but that doesn't stop them going after individuals personally, does it?
