Do we understand the physiology behind this?
I just finished listening to a wonderful 89-year old woman talking about International Women's Day. While her thoughts and ideas were as sharp as I'm sure they were when she was 40, her speech was slow and plodding in that 'old person' way.
Where is the slowing down occurring; ie, in the 'speed of thinking' part, the 'thought to speech' part, or the 'speech part' itself?
