    Breakfast at Whiffany's

Last night we had friends round for a drink, so I whacked together a few things, but made sure I had some left over, so that this morning my breakfast could consist of:

Home-made tuna, olive and garlic dip (spread on thick slices of fresh brown bread and butter)
    A glass of gazpacho
A slice of tortilla (the Spanish potato omelette one, not the Mexican etc etc)

Mrs K is a kind woman: she didn't refuse to kiss me as she left for work. But I suspect I'm wandering around in a miasma of garlic fumes, leaving a trail behind me like a steak in Tom & Jerry. It's lucky I work from home.

What's been your smelliest start to the day?

I've eaten leftover garlic bread for breakfast before, as well as leftover pizza, but it's been a while. I've also poached eggs in sugo or caponata, both of which are usually pretty garlicky around my house.

Most mornings, though, I've just got coffee breath.

It's not breakfast so much as whatever I've eaten the night before that makes my morning breath stink.

This morning: mortadella and mustard sandwich. I might try to keep this up for Lent.
