Strikes me as more Mel Gibson, but I take your point.

Assange is quite obviously paranoid. That said, it is also no doubt true that people are out to get him. It must be difficult being the literal embodiment of an aphorism.

A tweet from Wikileaks earlier today: "Guardian shunned at UK press awards: back-stabbing doesn't pay."

Does this really surprise anyone? It fits with everything his former colleagues at wikileaks have said about him (that is, the ones who left to found their own site because they found him secretive and authoritatian).

He clearly has a messiah complex and a manichaean view of the world. And those qualities very often line up with cheap anti-semitism.

I dunno, it's the rapist who's been arrested, rather than his fanclub.

I'm happy to stick with rapist, thanks.

We don't yet know what he's been arrested for, do we?

Breaking bail would be related to the rape charges, no?

Mr Assange, 47, had been in the Ecuadorean embassy in London since 2012, after seeking asylum there to avoid extradition to Sweden on a rape allegation - which he denied and was later dropped.

But he still faces a lesser charge of skipping bail in 2012 and he says this could lead to an extradition to the US for publishing US secrets on the Wikileaks website.

confirmation of the extradition. And remember Chelsea Manning is in prison for refusing to co-operate with Assange extradition proceedings

He should be extradited to Sweden of course. And he shouldn't be extradited to the US

He may very well be a rapist. It wouldn't actually surprise me.

The overwhelming majority of rapists are not even charged, let alone convicted. I'm not going to pretend that the tiny number of convicted rapists are the only rapists.

So, again, I'm happy with rapist, thanks.
