    So Munich then...

I'm in Munich all day on Thursday, from about 8 a.m. till early evening.

WITH two eight year old boys.

Any ideas how I can fill their time?

I've heard that 'BMW Welt' is kind of cool...

The Deutsches Museum is a great place for boys of all ages.

And if you do go to BMW Welt let me know what it's like, because I'm thinking about going myself.

I dunno about BMW Welt, on the website it looks very chique and minimalist, but largely empty.

          TPC: try some of these:

depending on their ages, the castle thing is stunning. My niece loved it (when I took her there at 11 years old, 4 years ago).

            Munich in one day.

            Preface:
Thursday is Corpus Christi, a public holiday, so no shopping, little traffic, a largely deserted pedestrian precinct in the centre.

            Eat
Weisses Bräuhaus (off Marienplatz, the street is named "Tal")

            Drink
Schelling-Salon or, if the weather gets less shitty, one of the many beer gardens.

            Art
Pinakothek der Moderne or one of the other two Pinakotheken next door.

            Museum
Deutsches Museum, as has been mentioned, is great for bad weather days, and it's so vast it basically can't get overcrowded.

            Stroll
Olympiapark. After 35 years, still a masterful combination of nature and architecture.

            History
I can recommend the history tours Munich Insider do.

BMW Welt is a great building from the outside. Inside there are a few terrific cars, and you can watch grown men (mainly Russians and Arabs) cry when they pick up their brand-new motors.

A second for the Deutsche Museum (which ursus minor LOVED at 8) and the Englischer Garten if the weather is ok (tell the boys they play cricket there).
