'Late May Bank Holiday'is what it says on my work calendar.

I've just taken part in a student version of 'Question Time' and played the part of rowdy leftie union rep with gusto.

By the end of the 'show' the representative of management/the Uni was just agreeing with everything I said in order to get some applause from the student audience.

Funnily enough I've spent all day on union duties, as the end of teaching/impending summer break brings out the loonie managers from the woodwork. Apart from part of the morning spent wrangling with train company websites to book a
'Late May Bank Holiday' trip to Devon.

No. There are trade holidays in Scotland called Fair Monday, mostly in July, but Scotland doesn't get the August bank holiday.

However the extra days are the September weekend and the 2nd January.

Both the September weekend and Fair Monday are trade holidays, which means that the date varies from town to town. This, I guess, is to keep the pubs of Blackpool in constant business.
