However, ... well, actually, not a thing. Euronews coverage makes it sound like they are having a party.

Oh well, happy birthday to the idea of giving someone a country... whether its yours to give or not. (Fucking Brits!)

The declaration of statehood was 14 May, though "nakba day" is commemorated on the 15th. Israel celebrates according to a different calendar though, so their official anniversary is, apparently, any time from 15 April to 15 May.
