He's somehow undercut the performance of Jacqui Smith on cannabis. She managed to keep her advisors in place even if she implausibly claimed that she understood science better than they did.
I expect a Telegraph-led "free speech" campaign in the next couple of days, just like they started when some students called on an anti-immigration demography professor to be sacked (he never got close to it). No doubt this case of an academic actually being sacked for bravely "speaking out" will get them going.
We're going to have to miss out an entire generation of Labour politicians if we want anything to get better, aren't we?
