          No corrections - good work.

How was the viva experience itself? It's about 3 or 4 months until mine.

            Yep, hearty congrats, toro.

And thanks too - you've just reminded me that a friend has his viva this afternoon that I meant to send him a good luck message for.

(But what do I mean by "applause"?)

                Thank you all.

ad hoc - primarily we apply for jobs, go photographing, move our bikes to London and faff around on the internet. For the moment, like.

thom - it was fine. They told me at the start the had found it very well-written, enjoyable, and informative. That put me at ease before the grilling (and it *was* a proper grilling at times) began. Both my examiners, too, were wise and senior guys, with very little ego or show-offiness, which made it far less uncomfortable than it might have been.

I think Hume may well have won when I conducted a favourite philosophers poll on the old board - might be time for a new one, I'll draw up plans. But Blackburn is the most prominent contemporary Humean, so it's all good
