    Cultural sensitivity, Swedish style

Fresh from the Russian's attempts to ingratiate themselves with their homies, we have this bunch, who do a lot of good work in the Francophone countries of Sub-Saharan Africa.

    Oh man.

When my Dad worked at the University of Newcastle, my Stepmum was in an organisation called UWIG: the University Wives (this was the 70s) International Group, which did lots of hands-across the water stuff, welcoming the families of visiting lecturers and so on. There was a persistent rumour that "International" had once been "Overseas".

I must be being really stupid and missing something obvious, but how is that site different from any other development agency in the West?

Ah. Had considered that, but then figured that it's Sweden, so what's the relevance? Hadn't thought about the Francophone countries aspect.
