It was good. We ended up in an anteroom with a data projector for most of it, but sneaked in the main bit towards the end. Steve P, ex of this parish, was there, with some of his nice colleagues from his job working for the Man.

Klima was likeable and thought-provoking, unlike most of the questions at the end, which were mostly self-aggrandizing and point-missing, and which seemed to depress him a bit. One exception was the very good question Purv asked about whether the Prague Spring had an economic dimension (relaxation of collectivisation etc), the answer to which was, apparently, that the Dubcek government had started work on one, but the tanks rolled in before they'd got anywhere near implementing it.
