Try the side-on reply just after 36 minutes here - he just gets the sole of his boot to the ball to divert it onto the post, it then rebounds back onto his leg and loops over. This is the only angle I've seen where it's apparent - it's almost impossible to detect from the reply behind the goal that was shown immediately after.

It's very clear on this. It's an amazing save it turns out.

Oh yeah, thanks both. I do indeed stand corrected.

It's comparable to the Argentina defender in 1986 who intercepted the cross that Lineker was about to head in for 2-2.

I think there's a case for it to be the save of the tournament. Except, if it was flagged offside it isn't counted as a save at all. Except, had the shot gone in (which it surely would have) the chances are the offside would have been overruled by VAR. As turning points go, it was a pretty big one.

Amazing double save, considering that he had to get up after just pulling off another great save. He's having a good tournament.

He didn't intercept the cross, he headed it away for a corner with the back of his head while facing the goal.

Julio Olarticoechea. OTF is the only place that ever mentions this.

Olarticoechea is one of the names I always bring up (along with Valdano, Pumpido, Burruchaga and Ruggeri) whenever someone tries to claim that Maradona won the 1986 world cup single-handed.

This AEB'ers is why we must be steadfast and not even waver in our course.
Can you imagine the carnage if they had reached the final or even won?

France has done the same with some of its train stations but they actually won it.

Belgium also changed some station names without winning.

Probably reserved for Scottish qualifying campaigns then.

I think England have created the Phil Jones Landfill for Three Lions merchandise, equipped with the Eric Dier bulldozer.
