                  Sorry, Inca.

I have a feeling that 9 and 10 are much better known in the US than the UK.

Is Killbane in the "current Irish squad"? If so, then he's 3; if not I think it's Shay Given.

You can win a diving competion by "going backwards", but you don't have to do so in order to win. The same goes for floor exercise in gymnastics. 5 is a bit vague.

I don't think many, if any, got 9 right as it happens ursus.

5 is vague as I've phrased it. The quizmaster gave the qualification that you *have* to move backwards to win. Sports that you can go forwards or backwards to win don't count.

Kilbane is the right answer for 3.

I remember when I was a kid, in the 80s and early 90s, the America's Cup was a really big deal. You don't hear much about it any more. Is the US still represented by Dennis Connor? I didn't know the word at the time, but he seemed like a massive douche.

There were two more in the round that I've just remembered:
                        11. Which course was the Ryder Cup staged in 2008?
                        12. Who was Ireland's flag bearer in the closing ceremony of the Olympics in Beijing?

Ah yes, the tug o' war. And I was going to plump for the High Jump in the post-Dick Fosbury era.

                                  No.2 is Paul Nicholls.

                                  No.8 is St.Vincents of Dublin.

IS is correct, high jump was also my guess.

                                      I'm afraid vs is wrong.
