I have to say, I consider this year's team, the final product, the completed entity, in terms of our construction of the team.

Even though we won the Super Bowl a few years back, there were still positions where I thought, well, we could really improve there.

But now with the latest round of acquisitions we have an incredibly well-rounded team.

For my idle amusement, here is how the team was "constructed" (they used to do this in Super Bowl preview magazines, if you recall)!

I didn't, I just name the players I draft after current college stars!

What's your record on Thanksgiving the past 7 years ?

Because the Lions team that played today put on what may the funniest turkey-day performance since Leon Lett trying to pick up that ball in 1993.

They should be called the Turkeys. They played like the turkeys in the Sarah Palin video.

    FREE AGENTS:

    Napoleon Harris (28/7)
    Patrick Surtain (38/7)
    Marty Booker (32/7)
    Donovan McNabb (38/7)
    Chris Chambers (5/1)
    Plaxico Burress (5.5/1)
    Mitch Mayberry (5/7)

HARRIS gives us the big, strong, fast MLB we needed. He is ranked 97 and aged 30.

SURTAIN gives us another shutdown CB to pair with WOODSON, he is ranked 95 and aged 33.

BOOKER is ranked 89 and aged 33, he will help our WR corps.

McNABB is ranked 87 and aged 32, he will be a great backup to STAFFORD.

CHAMBERS is ranked 84 and aged 31, great depth for our WRs. Similarly BURRESS is ranked 84 and aged 32.

MAYBERRY is an undrafted FA rookie FB who has some potential. He is 22, ranked 60, but with speed 77 and strength 78, not bad. With DROUGHNS ageing he could have a role soon.

    DRAFT:

    1st HB (10/7)

With no other available talent we are forced to take ANOTHER HB, this one with speed 99! At least we have an embarrassment of riches at that position!

A big shootout, with the SKINS prevailing 37-25.

Both teams put up 400+ yards of offense, but PATRICK RAMSEY threw for 4 TDs and STAFFORD obly threw for 1.

LAVERANUES COLES caught 7 balls for 150 yards and 3 TDs as CHARLES WOODSON got burned repeatedly.

AMANI TOOMER was the surprise hero for the LIONS catching 7 balls for 106 yards from his #4 WR slot.

A very disappointing result for a LIONS team that expected another championship!

The LIONS strolled to a 48-17 victory courtesy of STRAFFORD's 4 TD, 300 + yard game.

MICHAEL OWEN scored a couple of TDs, as did MICHAEL BENNETT, and TEYO JOHNSON also scored.

The victory was however marred by DRE' BLY getting hurt - he was replaced by SHAWN SPRINGS.

First up, it's the 10-6 RAMS! FAULK has moved on (he is a STEELER) but they still have WARNER, who is on the point of retirement.
