A juggled effort but Somerset have their second wicket and Notts are 21/2 chasing 255.

Ha, Waqas bowled without adding a run after rain delay. Cambs now 66-3 and ready for the draw.

Sounds like a good match Tony.

Essex and Somerset are both closing in on the winning posts.

Essex are 34/1 at tea, requiring another 58 runs.

Somerset have taken three wickets, with Notts 36/3 chasing 255. Ashwin is stll in, though.

Is this the final day in both matches?

                No. Day three for both.

Some useful boundaries for Essex after tea and they've moved on to 56/1; just 36 more needed now.

Essex win by eight wickets. Somerset have taken five of Notts' wickets now, though Ashwin continues to soldier on.

It was...almost. Inevitably, at a Minor Counties game at a small ground there was no tannoy/PA system so when the rain breaks came it was unclear whether the game was over and the draw had been accepted. So the crowd (maybe 40 of us) were left in limbo. As it happens Cumberland pushed for the win and kept coming out but too much time had been lost and they were left frustrated with Cambridgeshire six wickets down. Enjoyable game, though, and I will certainly book days in my diary for future Cumberland games at Penrith and Carlisle.

What's the format for these matches? Presume it can't be four-day with amateurs as they'd have jobs to go to.

Somerset did indeed get the match wrapped up today so they're still top of the Championship.

Northants set Lancashire 390 to win - and at 60 - 0 off 13 they look interested in having a go.

Damn, as the BBC site updates Jennings goes for 20.

Lancashire now 74 - 1 off 19 and slowing down. Hameed has scored a single off 17 balls so far and is absolutely not the man for a run chase.

Cheers Zeb, that's really helpful. Will the 'Wales Minor CCC' be rebranding as well I wonder?

Lancashire eventually shut up shop on 275 - 140 runs adrift with six wickets still left. Couldn't help but think if they had shifted Vilas and Croft up the order instead of Hameed they might have had a proper go at this.

Durham, now on real roll, win against Leicestershire despite posting a miserable total of 117 first innings. Cameron Bancroft may be a dirty, rotten sandpapering cheat but his captaincy is turning them around.

If Hameed is being released why is he still playing?

Got my stats wrong above as Lancs were only 115 adrift at stumps and with some extra push earlier could have really challenged the 391 needed. In this context Hameed's half ton - whilst a desperately needed show of resiliance - took 116 balls and didn't help the cause.

Good question about Hameed keeping his place. I would suggest that when Livingstone is fit again Hameed wil be out of the first XI.

He'd be more than welcome at Notts too given this season's batting omnishambles.
