          Ah.

I thought a previous post was referring to one of today's games.

          Move along please.

          Nothing to see here.

Are Yorkshire doing this on purpose?

              Lancs win by one run.

It was the only game that was remotely close today. But it was still nice to sit in the sun in Beckenham and watch Sussex cruise to victory.

Do you know what I'd like to spend a bank holiday Monday doing? Watching some cricket. Surely the ecb would schedule some sort of cricket on a day that people have free? And I live in London, I can get to at least 6 main county groups with a couple of hours or so. Simple.

Nope. The closest game is in Northampton, which is only 2.5 hours door to gate usually except that the trains aren't running.

I know I'm repeating myself but I am constantly frustrated at the way fixtures are scheduled. I also noticed a few weeks ago that when England are playing ODIs on the weekend there are no other fixtures on? Prime summer weekends where there is just one, international, game on.

I think I'll just go to Beckenham and watch Kent play Warks in the Women's County Championship (depending on rain).

Oh, can someone explain Women's cricket to me please? I was on the Surrey Website and they are very keen to make it clear that Surrey Women is a different team to Surrey Stars. But if that's the case how does Surrey Stars work as a concept if they only play a handful of games in August?

                        And so it proved.

                        oh well.

                        No matter

Aren't Surrey Stars to Surrey Women as Essex Eagles are to Essex (Men)?

The first named entity plays only in the national Twenty20 competition and is not necessarily drawn from the county side proper.

No, Essex Eagles is the name used by Essex CCC in limited overs matches.

                            If you go here
                            https://www.essexcricketshop.co.uk
for example, you'll find merchandise for the county championship, OD cup and Blast in the same place.

37 overs in 2½ hours isn't very good. It's a bit too cold in Beckenham for me to really enjoy this.

Collapses are rather sad aren't they? Warks were 194-3, they're now 196-7

                                  Not if you're a bowler.

                                    Whut?

Are Sussex openly advertising the existence of cow corner to visiting teams?

Just in time to see Cook go, in fact... Broad sent one down on a lovely length and Cook tried to drive it, ended up going to slip.

Surrey have reached 350 and earn another batting point, but Patel has just gone.

Now it's nine - Surrey have lost the last 3 for 2 as Batty goes.

The Glamorgan v Gloucestershire match is at Spytty Park in Newport - last used in the Championship 54 years ago. And it seems to be a good batting track if the visitors' performance is anything to go by,
