They have to be looking for additional sponsorship from Latin America

That quartet looks very out of place on a team representing a Breton co-operative financial institution and another Breton firm specialising in cleaning offices.

You just don't understand Breton co-operative financial institutional culture.

Anyway, INEOS have confirmed the signing of Carapaz, the buggers.

With WIGGINS and Madison Genesis both folding, the Tour of Britain was the final chance for many riders to put themselves in the shop window for next season. Unfortunately, a number have decided to call time on their pro careers at a depressingly young age. FIVE of Madison's riders have called it quits, including Erick Rowsell (brother of Joanna), Ian Bibby and Tom Moses.

Shame about Ian, he won the Lancaster GP stage of the National Road Series a few weeks ago.

Caleb Ewan to contest the London Six Day along with Cavendish and Viviani

Should be fun. I assume Ray already has it on his sporting calendar.

Not got tickets yet but probably my only chance to see Track Cycling this winter so plan to get along.

Have you been to a Six Day?

They don't do them here any longer, but Gent is on my list. There is a lack of pretense there that I think would be hard to replicate in London.

Tour of Britain to expand, nine days and Pro tier (merging the HC and .1 tiers) is the plan apparently.

Feels a bit hollow with half of the CT teams going belly up mind.

The headline can't be right though if it's not World Tour though imo.

I've frequently been to the current version of the London one, but not one of the classic mainland Europe ones.

The Gent 6 day has long been a popular event for British fans to attend - nice place for a weekend break by all accounts and the late November scheduling makes it convenient for picking up the Christmas booze on the way back.

Just been looking at the Worlds scheduling and I see that the men's under 23 road race next Friday is slated to finish at 7.05pm. That's brave - the light will be starting to go by then even in the brightest of conditions. (Sunset in Harrogate that day is at 6.53pm) If they get a murky day and a block headwind on the course then they'll potentially be finishing in the dark. Hope the organisers have got some contingency plans to either move the start time forward or chop a lap off the circuit if necessary.

It's right fucking weird seeing the Worlds taking place 50k away and passing pubs I've drunk in rather than being in somewhere like Verona.

I'm going on Wednesday, then something next weekend though not sure precisely what at the moment.

Enjoying this TTT relay, Netherlands are cruising to victory from Germany and looks as if Britain and Italy are contesting the bronze medal.

And Britain medal, thereby equalling their haul at last year's Worlds.

I went today and will be going again next Sat and Sun.

We arrived at about half past one, found parking about 75 metres away from the fan zone, went in and bought some merchandise and then went out on the course to watch the last six or seven teams.

The fan zone was all right. There were lots of big screen dotted around,so basically wherever you were stood you could follow the action. The commentator was informative and didn't dumb it down (at one point he compared Bauke Mollema's riding style to Fernado Escartin's,) and I could have easily spent longer in there.

We stood on the false flat about 600 metres from the start to watch the riders (even so close to the start, Tony Martin was in full on basking shark mode) and it all seemed to run smoothly. It was an added bonus to see Great Britain get a medal and celebrate on stage, as we had nipped back into the fan zone when the last riders had passed us by.

I'm in Richmond on Thursday for the Junior Road Race.

Women's junior time trial this morning. This race is probably the best bet for a British gold medal this week - Elynor Backstedt won the bronze in this event last year and is still eligible to participate. She's last off in about an hour from now, the first couple of riders have just finished.

Backstedt has a big wobble on a corner and just manages to stay upright. She's still less than a second off fastest at the checkpoint.

Other thought; the organisers need to buy a leaf blower. I know there's a lot of trees in that part of town but it looks a bit crap with leaves blowing all over the finish straight.

Oops - the Russian Aigul Gareeva who led at the checkpoint goes down the vehicle deviation, though still leads with just Alessio and Backstedt to finish.

Bronze for Backstedt. That's a little bit disappointing to be honest.
