    Urban Shocker

    Urban Shocker (Sept. 9, 1928)
Shocker, who went 18-6 for the Yankees in 1927, pitched only two innings during the 1928 season, and succumbed, in Denver, to heart problems and pneumonia.
Is that a cool name or what?

I'm still considering deed polling to "Harry Daft"....

But won't your parents (Mr. & Mrs. John "Stinky" Gymshorts) be upset?

Very possibly. Although it's John's birthday today, maybe I'll keep the news to myself for a while longer...

Googling just revealed that he had a brother called Majestic Mapp.

            Great names.

Rosanna Scotto: Urban Shocker in Yankee Stadium. Details at 11.

Seriously, they should have given him a plaque for having the best name in baseball ever.
