    Women's Cricket World Cup

India are looking very likely winners in the opening game against England. They've scored an extremely handy 281-3 with everyone contributing well. England currently 40-1 but with a lot of those runs coming off the edge.

Heather Knight with an agonisingly slow innings, as England fall ever further below the rate. For a team that seemed to be Raj, Ghoswami and 9 nonentities for so long, there is a lot more depth to this Indian side.

Good reverse jinxing, as Knight clouts two sixes in the next over. Still miles behind the rate though.

I see this isn't actually the opening match, as New Zealand comfortably beat Sri Lanka earlier in the day.

South Africa sneak past Pakistan despite a middle order collapse.

Australia made it clear who the favourites are with a comprehensive win over West Indies, who couldn't score fast enough or take wickets.

England are playing against Pakistan now. A slow start (Tammy Beaumont isn't working out as a pinch hitter, and Sarah Taylor is rusty) before a brilliant partnership between Sciver and Knight has got them going, with Sciver particularly impressive.

Sciver with a brilliant 135 off 90 balls, Knight with 106. Both gone now, but England set for a very big score.

England finish with 377, the 5th highest ever Women's ODI score. 7 out of the top 10 are against Pakistan (and two of the others were against Denmark and Japan) which suggests the bowling may not have been the best.

Highlights of Sciver's ton are on the ESPN site

They're probably the weakest team in the tournament, England gave them a comprehensive thrashing last summer and they were the final team to confirm qualification. That'd make it a bit of a blow for England if the weather brought about a no result.

Weather has held off long enough to make it count. Pakistan plodding along, will be lucky if they get within 150 runs.

Rain meant that England won on D/L and SA vs NZ was washed out.

Back on the field today, and India looking very good as WI have been stifled 92-6 in the 35th over.
SL are doing better than anticipated against Aus, almost entirely down to 73* off 90 balls by Jayangani. They are 129-5 after 33, so still unlikely to post a competitive total.

Jayangani is now 100* off 106 balls. I'm at work, so can't watch, but on the face of it it is a brilliant innings.

Now 151* off 132. This is (probably) sensational.

The next best score is 24. The one after that 13.

Up to third in the all time WODI batting records, and comfortably the highest ever against Australia (the previous record was 122 by Suzie Bates of NZ).

Brilliant stuff. Look forward to watching the highlights.

In the other match the Windies recovered somewhat to 183-8.

Australia lose a wicket in the second over. Their top four are so good that they generally don't need the rest of the order, so a couple more early wickets could make it interesting.
