Both Indian openers gone in Adelaide, too, against this classy Australian attack. Marcus Harris sounds like the result of some kind of Aussie middleorder batsman name generator, like Jake Ball was for the England Test side

Kohli out for 3 now too after a stunning catch from Khawaja. It should be four out as a fantastic chance to catch Pujara wasn’t taken by Handscomb, 30 for 3.

        56 for 4 at lunch.

And 143/6 at tea. All very predicable really. The idea that this was going to be an epic series always seemed a bit far fetched. India out of Asia are always rubbish and Australia at home nearly always unbeatable. Even with a mediocre Australia team and a reasonable India team it was never going to be that competitive. Can't see past a whitewash to be honest

Yasir Shah becomes the fastest bowler to 200 test wickets by some distance. 33rd match, 3 faster than Grimmett. As you can see from this table, it's no mean feat at all. http://stats.espncricinfo.com/ci/con...ds/283534.html

            NZ 37/3, still 37 behind

Taylor came in, decided to stop all this slow scoring stuff and bash the ball about. Got 22 in 14 balls. Now out, and NZ 60/4

Meanwhile in a very sparsely populated stadium in Adelaide, India have brought the 200 up thanks mostly to Pujara who is unbeaten on 85. Now 206/7, but the new ball has just been taken, and this is likely to be all over fairly quickly

Pujara run out for 123 trying to farm the strike. India 250/9. And that's the last action of the day.

Too early to rule out India, their bowling is better suited to Australia than previously, and this is a much poorer Aussie batting line up than previously. They will need a lot of runs from Kohli, but Pujara scoring a ton is good news for them as when he starts scoring he usually keeps it up.

I'd still have Australia as marginally favourite mind.

50 for Williamson. You'd think they need him to double that at least.

Yes. 112/4 at lunch, a lead of 38. Any lead over 150 is going to give Pakistan the fear, I reckon, after the first test, so if Williamson can hang in and get a 100, this match could be very interesting indeed

Williamson century, Nicholls 50, unbroken partnership of 134, lead of 120 and counting. This game is very evenly matched now

Over his career, Pujara has been run out 7 times, level with Boycott but a long way behind Ponting:

250-9 by India might not be a bad total given Australia's batting.

It looks like NZ are going to have a 200+ lead but a draw can't be ruled out given the slowness of the scoring in the match.

Amazing effort from Williamson, I think the first batsman in the world I'd turn to in a seriously sticky situation, on any surface.

NZ thrash 81 off 9 overs on the morning and declare, leaving Pakistan to get 280 to win. Should be a fun day.

In Adelaide, India come right back into it, and have Australia 191/7 at stumps. Australia's tail wags a fair bit so I would guess that they'll end up just about level on the first innings. Ashwin has been getting a lot of turn which means that batting 4th will be tricky, but also that Lyon must be fancying his chances when India bat again

Pakistan already 43/3. Looks like it will be a battle to draw rather than a run chase

                                        ha, beaten by seconds

Four down. NZ surely in the running for one of their greatest ever series wins?

NZ have won away to Pakistan twice, but still haven't clinched a Test series in (current) Pakistan. Last time was so long ago, they finished in Dhaka (with a draw).
