I wasn't pulling for them, but my "Fuck Pittsburgh" mentality lasted for about 2 seconds until I realized every Cowbitch fan has to realized they don't have the most Super Bowls anymore.
Congrats Pittsburgh. The Giants would've beaten you again, but that's not your fault.
Well, an unsatisfactory end to a great game, but on balance, the right team won it ...just!
I say 'unsatisfactory' because I don't like to see a disputed play end a game, that's all.
I just hope they don't give the MVP to Harrison. He showed he is a cheap-shot artist, with that punching and pushing over the player after the play had gone, that time. He should have been out of there for that crap!
However, you have to salute Roethlisberger's unerring accuracy for throwing to receivers in the corners of endzones.
The only reason I liked the last play is that it made Eli-to-Tyree that much more incredible.
I would have to say it was a definite fumble. The defender got it way before the arm started going forward. I would've loved to see a definite final Hail Mary (especially with Fitzgerald involved,) but that's what happens when you have a great defense on a final drive. They pull the plug on the magic show, bust up the party, scratch the records as they turn over the DJ table, turn out the lights, and tell everyone to go home if you're one of the ones who don't end up in the back of the squad car or paddy wagon.
Wow, that was a great Super Bowl.
After watching the replays, I have to agree with JV's assessment on the final play. I feel the Cards' offensive lineman could have made an effort to dive on the ball rather than throw his hands up in the air. A real bummer, as I was totally looking forward to Fitzgerald going up for the hail mary in a sea of Steelers.
Proud of my Narcoleptic boys too, though really it was won on the first weekend.
