Other sports followed by fictional characters

The 'Football Clubs supported by fictional characters' thread has mushroomed into a thing of chaotic beauty, but what of other portrayals of sports fandom in telly/books/film etc?

Re-watching A Very British Coup the other week, I was immediately fixated on the scene where Keith Allen's press officer is lying in bed surrounded by cans of lager watching a Test match. It looks like an England-India one from, I presume, summer of 86 but I'd like proper confirmation.

Anyway, sport in general followed by fictional characters then, people?

The most famous I can think of is the two characters in The Lady Vanishes who are obsessed with getting back to England in time to see a test match.

Dave Lister in Red Dwarf is a supporter of the London Jets zero-gravity football team.

      Fictional character, team and sport.

Hampshire and England - he recounts taking a woman to see India play, and scolding her for calling the Indians the wrong racial slur. That episode doesn't get many repeats now.

In another episode he sings the praises of Basil D'Oliveira (so he's not really a racist) and Fawlty says "Good Old Dolly"
