    We are Slavic girls

...we know how to use our tennis talents.

The near-domination of women's tennis by women of Slavonic ethnicity (including a Danish and a German national, to be fair) is indicated by a name survey of the names of the 32 women's seeds at the current French Open, which include:

    9 ending in -ova
    3 ending in -ovic
    2 ending in -cki
    1 ending in -ska

and, completing the 50 per cent, Vesnina from Russia.

Italy, Romania and the African American community well-represented too of course.

Add Angie Kerber as well. Her parents are German-Polish, forenames Slawomir and Beata.

Just a sec. Which of Sabine Lisicki (German-Polish) and Andrea Petkovic (German-Bosnian) were you not counting?

oops. Two German nationals. Hadn't noticed the German flag by Petkovic's name on the relevant Wikipedia page.
