Calipari may be a mercenary asshole but it is UConn, and not UK, that was on this year's shit-list of tournament teams in danger of being sanctioned based on their lousy academic record. There were eight of them. They have time to pull themselves out of it, but this wouldn't be the first time for them.
UK can actually boast a good graduation rate among their players that don't leave early for the NBA. I guess that is something. It's not their fault that the NBA has created this ridiculous one-and-done situation. I guess Calipari figures, these superstars are going to play somewhere for just one year regardless, it might as well be here.
Nevertheless, if that's what it takes to be good in college basketball, I'm glad that both Penn State and W&M suck at it.
