    T20 World Cup

Yeah, it's only been a year since the last one but we're off again.

Could be a shock first up as Namibia have SL at 30/3 chasing 164. SL and the Windies are in with the Associates trying to qualify for the Super 12.

That's a tough draw for The Associates. Definitely party fears two in that group.

UAE apparently dropped a few catches that would have given them a win v Netherlands.

Look away now West Indies fans.

They're about to lose to Scotland.

Stats suggest an advantage batting first assuming Zim wrap this up (UAE should have made it 4/4 but dropped catches). The losses by chasing sides have not been close.

Netherlands almost blow a dominant position against Namibia but creep over the line. Sri Lanka now in real jeopardy of not progressing as even if they win both games, they could well go out on NRR, after their thrashing by Namibia.

Two out of two for Oranje, n.r.r. will be their undoing in this tourney, but they've beaten two good teams. As ever, they are a more than decent bowling side, just lacking some late order wallopers - its been that way for decades.

Bas De Leede is an interesting player, he's the same age as my boys and Sean & Dylan played against him twice a season from U7 through to U11, and he was not a stand out kid back then. He's obviously one of this kids that just incrementally improve year on year without ever being a superstar youngster. Bit like Liam Livingstone.

Karthik Meiyappan of the UAE has just taken a hattrick against Sri Lanka. SL still look on course to get 150 or so, which you'd imagine will be enough, but I wonder how many other hattricks there have been in the world cup

NRR still in the balance. I think Sri Lanka will defend this, but probably not going to get a huge win.

This was the fifth. Brett Lee was the first, for Australia v Bangladesh in 2007. The other three were all in last year's competition - Curtis Campher (Ireland v Netherlands), Wanindu Hasaranga (Sri Lanka v South Africa), Kagiso Rabada (South Africa v England)

                            Blimey, there's been a T20 world cup since 2007?

Yeah. For the first 5 years or so almost the only T20s played internationally were in T20 world cups.

Ireland were in all sorts of strife, but Dockrell and Campher have made them favourites now.

Campher and Dockrell put on 119 off 57 balls for Ireland to win.

West Indies vs Zimbabwe now. A West Indies win would mean the final matches would be a straight knockout between Ireland and the Windies in one match and between Zimbabwe and Scotland in the other.

Interestingly, all 7 matches so far have been won by the team that lost the toss, which is a pleasant change from the Emirates one where winning the toss made you massive favourites.

Eldest will be the ground announcer at some of the Perth games.

They can look back now, as Zimbabwe's is disintegrating even more

Joseph and Holder deserve some better batters.

Sri Lanka are going through then. The Dutch need for Namibia to fail to beat UAE.

...which is looking a reasonable possibility now. 38/3 after 6 overs needing 149. Namibia's batting strength is their middle order rather than their top order though.

At 69/7 this seemed all over, but Namibia have recovered . The last over promises to be quite something with 14 need off it
