    Men's T20s starting next week: Pakistan v England, India v Australia. Essential warm-ups for the T20 World Cup Sun, Oct 16, 2022 – Sun, Nov 13, 2022

The next series in the Test Championship is Aus v WI (2 Tests). Links:

It would make sense to keep the T20 World Cup and the Test series in one thread.

The cricket thread titles this year have been an endless source of disappointment.

Pakistan set off at a hundred miles an hour in the first T20.

Oh, Cricinfo seems to show win predictor percentages on its ball by ball page. That's welcome.

Is it just me, and I know it's T20, or do Pakistan look all wrong in those colours?

I'm not a fan of these colours at all, they look like training tops. I've become fairly happy with England red's and blue outfit, though.

I’d clean forgot about that. I’m glad you reminded me.

Good to see England fielding young players Freya Kemp and Lauren Bell against India, but India are a pretty tough opponent to learn your trade against. The tourists are looking at a 300 total here.

Given all the players injured or retired, England don't have much choice. Think they'd have benefited from another bowling option, but Kaur battered everyone. Hopefully the experience will help them.

Good looking scoreboard from England’s point of view with only Malan not contributing. Great effort by Moeen. Pakistan set 200 to win.

Not as good looking as Pakistan’s obviously.

The pitch is apparently better under lights so England choosing to bat first may have been an error.

Only five wickets, all of them bowled and the highest score for a 10 wicket victory. One for the stattos.

Babar Azam is a lovely batter to watch.

Semi-finals of the Women's World T20 qualifiers today. I think the winners will both qualify. Ireland vs Zimbabwe first, Bangladesh vs Thailand to follow.

Will Jacks to make his debut for England today.

He's a terrific prospect but I'm a shocking jinx so apologies in advance, Will.

Arguably the world's best batsman if you take account of all three formats; certainly the most stylish of the contenders for that status.

Brook seems quite the talent too.

Bangladesh are 68/3 after 15. They are much better at bowling than batting, as are Thailand, but we could be having a massive shock here.

Bangladesh reached 113. That'll be enough for them I'd think.

Pakistan's much maligned middle order will need to perform now.
