Starting a round of the County Championship on Sunday while England are playing a home Test seems perverse even by ECB standards.

My son is at Edgbaston watching Bears v. Lancs. One of the kids he used to regularly play against in his Cheshire county playing days - George Balderson - has taken two Warwickshire wickets already. Dylan is worried he might bump into George's famously obnoxious dad, difficult to hide in such a sparse crowd.

Surrey should win pretty easily today. Something that's been likely since the first morning really.
Lancs need 237 runs with seven wickets in hand. That could go any way.
Gloucestershire lead by 41 runs with 3 second innings wickets in hand. Kent need to wipe up that tail as quick as they can.
What happened to Leicestershire? Innings totals in that match, Leicestershire 440, Notts 548, Leics 99

Nicely poised in the Warwickshire-Lancashire game. Lancs needling 164 to win but four wickets down - two of them being Croft and Vilas traditionally the best run chasers at the club. No Salt either, but to their credit Lancs don’t seem to be shutting up shop for the draw with a 70+ stand between Wells and Jones giving them
hope at tea.

Wells goes to a boundary catch for 142. I’m watching this on live stream and Lancs have only been going at just over three an over but needed to accelerate. Lamb up next who can hit but now five down. Not sure where they’ll go with this - 75 needed.
* they’ve sent Balderson in first
* and it was Jones who went not Wells

ESPN+ is streaming the Ranji Trophy semi-finals and final with a mixed Hindi/English commentary.
Full replays available, which is helpful given that the matches start at 23h30 Eastern time.Last edited by ursus arctos; 17-06-2022, 12:17.
