Chris Dent 207* today, passing 10,000 career first class runs in the process
Won't get mentioned in England terms obviously, never has been, never will.
Some big names taken off the Glos record sheet today. Highest opening stand v Surrey (Abbas/Stovold 1975), highest stand for any wicket v Surrey (Lyon/Hammond 1928) and the first Glos double v Surrey since Zaheer Abbas in 1976.
Surrey denied any bowling points whastsoeverLast edited by Gas In Name Only; 30-04-2022, 22:52.

The updated race to 1000 runs.
1 (=) Masood 713
2 (=) Compton 560
3 (+2) Pujara 531
4 (NE) Dickson 520
5 (+2) Brook 512
6 (NE) Madsen 498
7 (-3) Haines 447
8 (=) Duckett 430
9 (NE) Malan 395
10 (-6) Burgess 372
Dropping out of the list is Bracey who will be kicking himself for getting a duck on the road at Bristol. Haines scored a half century but only got one knock, so drops down.
There will be 3 games in May to get up to a 1000.

Next round of matches start today.
Derbyshire, Kent, Somerset and Nottinghamshire all have a week off, so no chance for Masood, Compton, Madsen or Duckett to advance their totals, although Kent are playing Sri Lanka in a first class game tomorrow, so Compton might play in that.

The 34 off the over came against Josh Baker, an 18 year old spinner. Hopefully it won't be too traumatising.
He's up to 15 sixes now, one short of Symonds Championship record for a single innings. Apparently Durham's record for sixes for an entire season is 19, which Stokes has practically beaten in one session.Last edited by Etienne; 06-05-2022, 12:05.

Can't believe the ego of Mark Drakeford, demanding the whole section be cleared so he can watch some cricket.

Can't have been very encouraging for Essex to get out Joe Root for 75 and have Yorkshire 5 down, only for it to bring together Brook and Malan together, and sure enough they are piling on more runs.
Dickson got his second ton of the match as the Worcestershire bowlers take more punishment and he's now overtaken Masood.
