    Gloucestershire rocking, now.

    Comment

Chris Dent 207* today, passing 10,000 career first class runs in the process

Won't get mentioned in England terms obviously, never has been, never will.

Some big names taken off the Glos record sheet today. Highest opening stand v Surrey (Abbas/Stovold 1975), highest stand for any wicket v Surrey (Lyon/Hammond 1928) and the first Glos double v Surrey since Zaheer Abbas in 1976.

Surrey denied any bowling points whastsoever

The finish in Derbyshire Glamorgan is probably fizzling out now but it could have gone any way a few overs ago

The updated race to 1000 runs.

            1 (=) Masood 713
            2 (=) Compton 560
            3 (+2) Pujara 531
            4 (NE) Dickson 520
            5 (+2) Brook 512
            6 (NE) Madsen 498
            7 (-3) Haines 447
            8 (=) Duckett 430
            9 (NE) Malan 395
            10 (-6) Burgess 372

Dropping out of the list is Bracey who will be kicking himself for getting a duck on the road at Bristol. Haines scored a half century but only got one knock, so drops down.

There will be 3 games in May to get up to a 1000.

Next round of matches start today.

Derbyshire, Kent, Somerset and Nottinghamshire all have a week off, so no chance for Masood, Compton, Madsen or Duckett to advance their totals, although Kent are playing Sri Lanka in a first class game tomorrow, so Compton might play in that.

Sibley with a century at Old Trafford against an Anderson-less attack

Another ton for Sean Dickson. At 30 he's probably too old to be likely to be given a test debut, but his form is certainly good enough to make a claim to play for either England or South Africa this summer.

Leicestershire contrive their 3rd run out as they make only 320 despite Glamorgan's seamers producing barely any threat all innings.

Stokes has hit 9 sixes so far this morning. 94* off 63 balls, 78 of them in boundaries.

Then reaches his hundred with his tenth six.

Mahmood-less, too, but Sibley impressively carrying his bat to end on 142 not out in Warwickshire’s 315.

Stokes is absolutely mullering Worcs. His last 8 balls have gone for 46 runs, including 34 off an over - the last one going for 4.

The 34 off the over came against Josh Baker, an 18 year old spinner. Hopefully it won't be too traumatising.

He's up to 15 sixes now, one short of Symonds Championship record for a single innings. Apparently Durham's record for sixes for an entire season is 19, which Stokes has practically beaten in one session.

Elsewhere Mohammed Abbas is routing Glos, they are 31-4 and Abbas has all 4.

Potts doing to Worcestershire what Abbas did to Glos, they are 41-4 and Potts has 4-11.

Seems churlish to grumble, but Stokes' innings today doesn't seem like the perfect preparation for Test cricket.

                                          Neither is facing Worcs bowlers

Hants got a lead of 163, then lost both openers without a run on the board, and then lost two nightwatchmen* as well. 28-4 at the close as Amir tries to outdo Abbas.

Did anyone come up with a gender neutral term for this?

Can't believe the ego of Mark Drakeford, demanding the whole section be cleared so he can watch some cricket.

Can't have been very encouraging for Essex to get out Joe Root for 75 and have Yorkshire 5 down, only for it to bring together Brook and Malan together, and sure enough they are piling on more runs.

Dickson got his second ton of the match as the Worcestershire bowlers take more punishment and he's now overtaken Masood.

Is that it now for the Women's county season after today? Apart from the London Championship, for some.

I know she went for a duck but I love Izzy Wong. Opening the batting and bowling for Warks.
