It seems that CA investigated the "lewd" messages and decided there was no case to answer. So i do wonder if they were consensual at the time?

the story i've read suggests that they were consensual up until the dick pic, which obviously came as an unpleasant surprise.

The story I read says he sent the dick pic just before he took the field in his comeback game for Australia.

Daily Heil has screenshots (not of the dick pic). Quite clear when she's talking about her kids she's trying to send a message he didn't get.

Most likely because they felt that they couldn't take another scandal so soon after Sandpaper Gate

That can be the only plausible explanation. They had to pretend everything was being returned to normal asap. There were also no other viable captains - they were already scraping the barrel with him (his reputation as a successful captain mystifies me: they failed to beat a weak England in 2019 due in significant part to his errors at Headingley and they've never been better than the 3rd best Test side, having failed to make the WTC final after having points deducted for over rates, also his responsibility.)

Just before, as in he took it in the dressing room?

My already unusually low excitement levels about the Ashes have gone down a few more notches. What with the ACB, Paine, the ECB and Root's carefully worded blandness about Rafiq's treatment, none of them deserve my money.

The Ashes will be easy to ignore if it's as one-sided as expected.

WI 52-6 in SL facing defeat. SL didn't bother with the seamers: all 4 bowlers in the 2nd innings are spinners.

Looking likely that the rest of England's warm up will be rained off, just to help them along.

Debutant Iyer 68* has given India the edge, supported by Jadeja: 239/4.

They aren't really the best test teams taking the field though. India have rested basically their entire T20 world cup team, so no Sharma, Rahul, Kohli, Pant or Bumrah. NZ only have 2 or 3 players who appeared in the T20. Obviously this benefits India more, as they have so much bigger pool of players to choose from.

BT Sport would probably appreciate them doing just that.
