    Disastrous first inning that

    Comment

We really shouldn't bother with all of these games, though really. Just save the trouble and give the trophy to the Marlins now.

        *sigh*

It's a long way back when you give up 4 runs in the first inning. Clawing it back at a 1 per inning run rate

The Padres have the talent but the pitching injuries will be a concern. I said the same thing about the Astros and they did the business in two. Can work in these short series, but I think a good staff is needed to win the championship.

I think this game is pretty much gone. Cardinals have won 23 out of 24 games when they score 5 or more runs.

White Sox had bases loaded but couldn't get those runs in, so that series is tied 1-1.

"Hilarious" stat just now that Yadier Molina has had 25 more play-off games than the Padres have had in their entire franchise history.

This is very far from being over

I saw a news crawl on ESPN that MLB expects that some fans will be able to attend WS games in Arlington.

Meanwhile, Yankees-Cleveland was delayed by rain. They started the game. Got to the bottom of the first and are delayed again. That is ridiculous. How can they see the weather on the radar now and not see it 30 minutes ago. Wait for the storm to pass and then start the game. Could be a real mess with both starters getting warm and possibly sitting for 30 minutes or wasting energy on bullpen work.

Not just the Series, but the playoffs as well.

They are selling 11,500 tickets for each game.

They're watching other leagues, I guess. I don't watch NFL or college football but I thought I read that some college football games allow some fans. Is that true? And what about NFL? Obviously, some European football leagues are allowing fans. I haven't heard anything about outbreaks after those games but I don't pay close attention to news surrounding the games and instead just hear whatever the announcers discuss during the games I watch.

Yankees-Cleveland about to re-start. Padres looking like Bad News Bears on the basepaths. The game probably could be tied up by now if they were smart about their approach.

Tanaka getting clobbered. 4-0 already. Yankees defense is the ying to Padre's baserunning yang. The ball seems to be ratting around in the outfield and the Yankees can't get it back to the infield soon enough to limit the damage.

Both college and NFL games in certain states (including Texas) are being played in front of a limited number of fans, so yes, MLB is taking advantage of local practices.

                                  Friars had their chances.

                                  They can get to Wainwright.

Urshela with a grand slam. Yankees now up 5-4. A-Rod was correct during the second inning. Keep Tanaka on a short leash because Cleveland's 4-0 lead is easy to overcome for the Yankees given their power.

EDIT: But then the Yankees just seemed to accept that was enough. After two more walked, the next three batters didn't step up with a clear plan to add more runs. I'm off to ESPN2 for the Dodgers.

Dodgers already up 2-0 in the bottom of first. Suter has walked 4 guys already. I have no clue how the Dodgers have 2 outs. ESPN says Suter only waked 5 all season.

You're telling me. I've been seeing the Yankees-Cleveland game listed in the upper right hand corner and it has been stuck on the 7th inning for 45 minutes. I finally went to that game during a commercial break because I thought that game had to be in another rain delay. Nope.

But I fear the Dogers- Brewers game is about to drop to a slow crawl. Brewers got some runs and Dodgers are starting the pitching changes. Currently 3-2 Dodgers but they really should have scored 4 in that first inning and another few in the second. Now their bats are cold and Brewers are waking up.

Cleveland ties. What a mess for the Yankees and timely patience by Cleveland. It was two outs and then Montgomery walked two batters. Always going to create problems. I went back to Dodgers game and saw that Cleveland hit a 2-run blast. That game is destined to go to extras. Haha.

                                              Now 8-8 going to the eighth . . .

Went back to that game during the commercial break for Dodgers game. Matt V said he felt like he is stuck in a casino. He and A-Rod were on the Reds-Braves game and now the Yankees-Cleveland game. That's funny.

                                                  Just brutal

I didn't realise that they were asking broadcast crews to do multiple games

                                                  Comment

I think they have 3 broadcasting teams (Sunday night, Monday night, Wednesday night) all with 3 person booths plus an insider. And I don't think they usually have games once the wild card round is done. Given that mix, I assume they've broken up some of the teams and are avoiding bringing in other announcers if all future rounds move to Fox and TBS (with a couple games on MLB Network).
