Love the PNG caps. Looks like they play for one of those expensive all boys schools.

That's awful about Shakib. Perhaps I'm just being optimistic, but his statement seemed very contrite. But it's awful for Bangladesh, and for cricket as a whole, to have such a high quality batsman, one who only seems to be getting better and better, and a bowler also, banned. Well, number threes who bowl and captain don't come along that often, the game is all the poorer for his absence.

Namibia are very white for an African nation.

Big match for Scotland starting in twenty mins, against Papua New Guinea in the World T20 Qualifier, needing to bounce back after defeat to Singapore. That's the first of five matches today which I presume will be on the ICC YouTube page.

Silverwood's a good appointment, I think. Transformed Essex, who were fairly shambolic earlier this decade, winning promotion followed by a title in successive seasons. And bowling hasn't been England's main problem in recent times, so his job thus far with the national team hasn't been a failure.

England have managed to resolve the problem of choosing between Kirsten and Silverwood by going for Silverwood now, then bringing in Kirsten in eighteen months time once everything’s gone completely pear shaped. Shrewd.

Might be a bit harsh on whichever India opener was dropped after putting on 315.

Dean Elgar averages around 40 in an era when all opening batsmen are crap. He'd walk into any side in the world, I expect.

Fine recovery from SA, avoiding the follow on. Dean Elgar's a hell of a Test batsman these days in't he?

India 202-0 v SA in Visakhapatnam but it looks like it's going to piss it down for most of the Test.

They feel like one of the most dominant cricket teams of all time.

Meanwhile, Rohit Sharma's carried his World Cup form into Tests with an unbeaten 100 against a toothless South Africa
