            Impressive bike throw.

Viviani was completely out of it. I wouldn't be surprised if Morkov is released from lead out duty by the end of the first week.

Wait what, our favourite pre-owned watch specialists no longer sponsor the ITV coverage?

Would have been nice if ITV could have shown some more of the bloody bike race, there can't have been more than twenty minutes shown in that highlights programme. Nice to see Berhane get in the break given that he was my tip for the day for the mountains jersey.

They also showed that Thomas's crash was caused by a policeman inside the barriers. Not like the race has had any problems with that sort of thing before is it?

                  Team Oakley - Aldi crisps.

I'm a bit late in the day. However,

                  1. Bernal
                  2. Landa
                  3. Nibali

Bernal has a good team around him and Thomas will have a proper fall at some point. Landa will also have a good team and Quintana already looks like it isn't ever going to happen for him in France. Yes Nibali did the Giro, but he's quality.

Michael Woods will be the highest placed rider on his team.

                  Saganingreen.

I've got each way money on Pinot and Woods, just because I think they'll have a real go at it.

(As ever, I really don't know what I'm talking about, but I wanted to contribute.)

Team Laptop - Porn Star Martini.

I don't have a clue who will win, and it's good to be able to say that. I don't really think any of them are good enough, but someone has to. I hope Kev proves to be right, I like Uran.

So, what's happened to sprint trains as a concept? Over 200m to go and all the fast guys are on their own. Good race smarts from Teunissen and Sagan, their positioning kept Ewan out of contention for the win.

TTT tomorrow and anything other than an INEOS win would be a surprise.

You think? Mitchelton Scott and Lotto Jumbo are at least as likely, I would say. Wouldn't count out Deceuninck or Sunweb either.

I put each ways on Fuglsang and Nibali, sorry Jakob- jinxed you.

great crowds yesterday, wish I’d watched it live, now
I’d quite like Uran to win it, too but when it comes down to it- anyone but frakkin’ Ineos

I think INEOS will win today as well. Castroviejo was one of only six riders to lose time yesterday, presume this is their old tactic of getting riders to sit up in the finale to save energy.

Groupama FDJ only lose 12 seconds to INEOS; that's a hell of a result for Pinot.

Didn't identify them myself, a quick look on social media suggests it was Gaudu or Roux.

Ag2r have lost a minute to INEOS. Oh, Romain.

I don't think this time is going to win

Also note that ASO doesn't believe in capitalising INEOS.

The route makes me very nostalgic for Bruxelles, they gone right by the office and within a few blocks of my flat on both days. Very glad to see people coming out.

There seems to be an inconsistency with the branding of their team name on the telly graphics - at the finish line it's Team Ineos, in the box for times on the road they are Team INEOS. This is really annoying me now I've noticed it.

Can someone remind me - do all the riders on a team get the same time, or do the ones who drop off early and finish minutes behind lose those minutes on the GC?

Time is taken on the fourth rider to cross the line, everyone who gets dropped gets their own individual time.

                                            They lose those minutes

If you cross the line with the group of four or more, you get the time of the fourth rider.

If you are behind the bunch, you are on your own,

In time trials are the team leaders usually permėtted to spend less time at the front of their respective teams in order to waste less energy for future stages?

Depends on the team, as that needs to be balanced against the possible loss of time.

Jumbo comes in first by some margin and Teunissen keeps his lead.
