    Bernal's won this now, surely?

    Horrendous luck for Alaphillipe.

This is bonkers. But it's not a home-team decision.

Stage being neutralised because of the hailstorm and they're going to take the times from the top of the Iseran. That's a right fucker for Alaphilippe.

He hasn't bonked though, and the gap to the other GCers isn't that big, yet.

Bernal trying to go solo 40k from the finish is brave.

Yep, Ala is dropping now, 5km from the top. He's hanging on to Porte, with the excellent Guillaume Martin just behind, as Bernal and Landa ride away. Hey ho.

Did something happen to Dowsett or is he just spent?

Ugh, I'm now all in for Alaphilippe which means I'll be disappointed again, probably quite soon. Come on Buchmann.

Dowsett and Debusschere pass through the intermediate sprint, they're about 20 minutes behind the leaders and are going to do well to stay in even with the extended elimination time.

I think that their form this year is a major reason why they signed Carapaz

They've been poor this year, don't think there's been a single day where Kwiatkowski and Poels have both been at the business end in the mountains. Moscon has been conspicuous by his general absence, though he's managed to avoid racially abusing or punching anyone, so fair dos to him for that.

Try that here and they're mush by the time you're hungry.

Good as I'm out to lunch and aim to catch as much as I can of the finish.

They are right on the slow estimate in the Road Book, which has them finishing at 17h50 local time

Idle speculation about the effects on Alaphilippe- not to be underestimated how 2 French riders would have helped one another at the pointy end if their interests coincided but Pinot going puts an onus on Alaphilippe that I think he's capable/cocky enough to ‘assume’: ok, so it’s up to me, then...
