Matildas aside yesterday was a pretty good day for Aussie women

A major golf champion and a world number one tennis player. Is this the first time in Australian sport history that there's more to celebrate about their women than their men ?

Cathy Freeman called to ask WTF?!? Heather McKay is tapping her fingers impatiently, waiting her turn to berate Rogin. Margaret Court is, well, let's leave her out of this, shall we? In fact the queue of highly successful prominent Australian sportswomen is rather long and distinguished.

And also don't use Women's successes to highlight Men's failures. That reduces the Women's efforts from things of value in their own right to mere reference points. If Aussie Women's sport is going well at the moment, great (for them). Whether Aussie Men's is flying or struggling at the same time is basically irrelevant.
