you'd suspect if the BDO doesn't get a new TV deal with BT then it's all over for them and they might have to go cap in hand to Barry Hearn and ask for the £2million he offered a couple of years ago to take them over.
you're right about the great job the BDO does at player development but at the highest level it has only gone backwards since the split. in an ideal world the 2 governing bodies would merge with the PDC overseeing professional darts and the BDO looking after the amateur/development level, that basically already happens but it'd be nice if they made it official.

The BDO does do some good stuff in that it provides a pathway for players to develop. Pub -> Superleague -> County -> BDO tournaments. Problem is that most decent players then see the PDC as the next and final step. Maybe the loss of the last terrestrial TV contract might bring the BDO and PDC back together.
