Oh man, that's a fucking shame.

I had part of my my "let's fly to an exotic European capital city" stag night there.

Yeah it's a bit of a "day they knocked down the pally" moment for me, this. The only night out in Chingford* worth doing, on the way out. The place where my dear old grandad, God rest his soul, taught me the intricacies of reverse and combination forecasts and the like. Always a fun night out.

      * The stadium's actually in E4, just, not E17, postcode fact fans.

Didn't David Beckham used to collect pots there? Surely this alone should make the place a heritage site or something.

          .

But then you've got the dogs being destroyed as soon as they stop running ... so jolly good riddance, I say.

What with Catford cosed down a few years ago there's only Wimbledon left in London. (And Crayford I suppose, but it's a way out.)

I'm glad to hear it, hobbes, and I retract what I said.

"Some of the others will continue their careers on independent tracks or will return to their native Ireland..."

Blimey, I didn't know greyhounds were all Irish.

I went to Walthamstow dogs once. The mixed grill was supposed to be tremendous, but my gf at the time was a veggie, so I didn't have one.

Beckham and Sheringham collected glasses there according to a mate of mine. Its part of the "Beckham Tourist Trail" as well.
