What's the fucking point anymore, in modern Rugby Union?
You either ruin a test match because neither side can keep the srcum upright, as per Scotland v England, and waste about 15 minutes of play faffing about it; or ruin a test match like France v England because it kept going down, and the ref kept giving penalties in favour of the team that was if anything cleverly committing the offences.
There simply just doesn't seem to be any point any more in Rugby Union for scrums. Maybe, after 100 years, they'll finally realise the folly of it, just make it uncontentested scrums all the time, do away with the flankers, and open the midfield game up to running rugby. That sounds like some other game, which went too far the other way and is now even more boring because it doesn't have mauls and rucks but silly girly "tap-backs" all the time.
