Looks like the long-running Bath at the Rec saga is moving on once more.
The Western Riverside site looks like a logical move as it is one of those property development sites that are all over Bath (and every city) that were cleared and have now slowed down because of the recession leaving vacant brown field sites all over the place.
Building a stadium here seems like good sense especially given that towards the eastern end of the site there is a Sainsbury's and a Homebase there that would probably link up with the new stadium.
Also, the site is a good place for any ground-share with Bath City as it is pretty much equidistant between the Rec and Twerton Park.
There is, however, a couple of flies in the ointment. Firstly, and this is the reason for my interest, this would mean a stadium the size of the Madjeski or the Cardiff City stadium pretty much in the middle of the city. While a proper city like, say, Cardiff can handle a stadium like the Millenium in the middle of the city, Bath can't.
Not to be too much of a green ponce about it, all parts of the city are pretty much visible from any other part of the city and we have just got the benefits of getting rid of a couple of gas works in the middle only to have them replaced by an identikit arena.
Secondly, Bath hasn't got the infrastructure for 20000 eggchasers every other Saturday.
Thirdly, Bath City should stay at Twerton, it;s a great stadium
