    It is about the bike

I am currently training for a half iron man triathlon in September. Now i have no real interest in bikes/ road racing etc as when I started tri my interests were swimming and running. problem is, half a tri is bike.

In my third season now, after what I thought was an impressive Windsor performance of 2 59 last year I replaced my specialized allez with a full carbon specialized tarmac pro

however, i have not seen any improvement. In fact my bike time was up on last year at windsor this year (swim and run down)

so today, i drove to leamington spa for a bike one on one looking at angles, height etc. lots of video. Changed the settings and things are now looking better. My initial pose was awful.

hopefully should make a big differnece

Once you pass 32 kph, 75% of the effort you put into cycling on the flat is in overcoming wind resistance. So getting your correct position on the bike is critical.

Also to use your long leavers most efficiently, the distance between the top of your saddle and the centre pin of your peddle should be 114% of your inside leg measurement. (Where the crank is positioned in line with your down-tube).

Yeah, a fitting will do wonders, particularly when not riding in a group.

You were at Broadribbs? I can see that shop from my front room window and I've been in all day!

          broadribbs? Is that a LBS?

No, I was at this place. Had the feeling of seeing a dentist in his house, came recommended from a triathlon forum. based on portland place

I meant to text you actually, ask if you fancied a lunch thing. of course i was running late and forgot. Ended up getting a sandwich from an up market greggs. had to walk past a curious looking 1920's cinema

This is an excellent article about how to fit your bike yourself:

I've got the measurements and fittings of Mercx, Anquetil, Indurain and Hinault if anyone is interested. Something to compare yourself to. Long thigh bones seem to matter.
