Neon Meate Dream of a Octafish

I think I've finally got Trout Mask Replica.

After sitting on my shelf for about 10 years being rubbish it's suddenly become really very good indeed.

    That's all.

I only heard it for the first time about six months ago. I think it's brilliant.

I first heard it in 1978. I think it's brilliant.

Okay, so here's the challenge slapped down. Having heard this album a mere nine years late, am i the oldest cunt on the block?

"Lick My Decals Off Baby" is actually superior...

I must be a wuss at heart, anyway - my favourite Beefy LP is "Clear Spot".

Clear Spot favourite. Trout Mask best.

I like Clear Spot and Shiny Beast (Bat Chain Puller) the most.

I've not actually heard Trout Mask Replica since I was 18 - when I liked it a bit - but I obviously should.

My mate had a copy back in '75, but for some reason I've never actually listened to it. Still, I've no excuse now, it's on my iRiver...

                      1. Safe as Milk
                      2. Clear Spot
                      3. Strictly Personal
                      4. Doc at the Radar Station
                      5. Mirror Man

Not sure I've got Trout Mask yet.

It's so good it'll make you stop supporting Liverpool and start supporting Arsenal. If you're fine with that, steam in.

Now no-one who can breath and walk simultaneously will want to listen to it...

Safe As Milk has always been my favourite Beefheart, but Trout Mask Replica is brilliant. I got my copy from some barrow on a market when I was 15 (so, um, 1975 - yikes) and it still gets a regular spin. Never really got into the later Beefheart stuff though - anything after Clear Spot (although Bluejeans and Moonbeams has the occasional highlight).

It's brilliant. I love putting it on to see how long before someone finally says "What the fuck is this?"

My daughter's name being Ella, I of course call her Ella Guru to no-one's amusement but my own.
