    Birth year supergroup

Variation on a theme. I've just gone with the classic line-up:

Vocals: Caleb Followill (Kings Of Leon)
    Guitar: Quinn Allman (The Used)
    Bass: Russell Leetch (Editors)
    Drums: Travis Smith (Trivium)

Eddie Vedder, Duff Mc Kagan, Neneh Cherry, Reni.

I should be doing well here, seeing as I can pick Madonna, Michael Jackson and Prince, who could play just about any instrument. I wouldn't have expected the group to last for long though.

I could have the drummer, guitarist and lead singer out of Green Day, and chuck into the mix backing vocals from Ginger Spice, Mark Owen and Mikey out of Boyzone. Rhythm guitar and bass provided by Jaret Reddick and Mark Hoppus, and then just to see how it would work, Busta Rhymes and Eminem.

Mine is a tight three-piece, featuring Kurt Cobain, R. Kelly and Keith Urban. They're sort of an addict, rapey, nu-country outfit. The icing on the cake is that they chose KKK for their handle.

Kid Cudi raps over a Calvin Harris-produced beat with Patrick Stump on guitar, while the chorus is shared between Katie Melua, Katy Perry, and Avril Lavigne.

If I could have musicians who _died_ in my birth year, it'd be a whole different ballpark. I'd have Jackie Wilson and Marvin Gaye singing over an orchestra led by Count Basie.

I've got a power three-piece with Vince Neil, Dave Mustaine & Chad Smith but I so want to fit Susan Boyle and Boy George into the act somehow.

I have an over-emoting Brit safe-alternative supergroup with Dolores O'Riordan and Richard Ashcroft on vocals, and Jonny Greenwood on guitar, and backed by some turgid drumming from Oasis's Tony McCarroll

I guess this would have to be a Polyphonic Spree-style group:
                  Robert Smith
                  Morrissey
                  Jody Watley
                  Bryan Adams
                  Jim Kerr
                  Alan Wilder
                  Mike Peters
                  Sade
                  Paul Westerberg
                  Terry Hall
                  Susanna Hoffs
                  Ian McCulloch
                  Morten Harket
                  Richie Sambora

A power trio with no bassist? Not sure that works.

I mean, I'll put Tom Araya in if I really have to...
