    Songs from round the corner

Mushroom studios, Vancouver. One block North and two blocks West from my apartment in 1976. Two of my personal favourites (and the label's biggest hits)

Which Way You Goin' Billy? — The Poppy Family, who were mainly Terry and Susan Jacks, but the band had a strange line-up vocals, lead guitar, rhythm guitar, and tablas. One of my all time top mardy female songs (along with Angel of the Morning and Born a Woman.

Crazy On You — Nuff said really. One of the greatest intros in rawk, and just a heck of a first single. Here's a live version with extra Nancy at the outset and serious wind machines throughout.

By coincidence it would appear, Mushroom was the go-to Aussie label from 1972, most of the local acts in the ensuing years were on there from the Minogue sisters to The Saints. According to Wiki, no connection with yours.

Saw a Heart tribute band in Albuquerque a few tears ago. They were terrific.
