                    Hotel Cull-ifornia?

RIP. Can't say I'm a huge fan, but New Kid in Town remains a great song. (I quite liked One of These Nights, as well...)

Yet that misogynist fuck* Don Henley lives...

Glenn Frey also didn't come across very well at all in the recent docu on the Eagles.

                            * A euphemism which, by some accounts, cabn also be applied literally.

                              I'll resist the punfest.

OK, he was a grumpy so and so, but the music trumps that.

They were briefly my fave US band before I moved to the heavier Creedence.

Most times this would have been a much bigger story. Terribly young, all sorts of things wrong with him according to the reports.

Not really my favourite act but there's something in those almost lazy-sounding songs like Take It Easy.

                                  Balls.
                                  Again.

At least evilC's Fistful Of Travellers Cheques gave me a laugh.

There's a bit in History Of The Eagles where they're backstage running through a couple of last-minute song rehearsals and the five of them are harmonising.
Ho-lee fuck. Effortless. What talent. If they're the enemy consider me a collaborator.
David Crosby said he didn't like them because their live show was exactly what you got on record.
                                  What's the problem, David?
There's an old BBC live film session around from the early '70's where they're playing as a four-piece which is a bit more raw but still close to perfection

It's been a bad few weeks alright.

They were obviously proficient musicians but their stuff sounds very dull for the most part.

By the way, if you are ever cornered by a Gram Parsons bore at a party, as I was some years ago, the best way to get rid of them is to compare Grievous Angel to On The Border. They will immediately turn on their heel in disgust.

Well, if that sort of music is what gets your rocks off, who am I to argue.

I remember when I was 12 or 13 there was a boy locally who was around 15, possibly 16 at a pinch. He was really, really into Gram Parsons and even at my tender age I thought that was music no-one under the age of about 50 should ever like.

The one Eagles track I genuinely like is Lyin' Eyes. I'd like it even better had they inserted the missing g.
