Robert "Throb" Young

Throb, great guitarist and co-founder of Primal Scream, has died.

I knew him vaguely and am a bit upset by it.  I guess he made his choices.  Bobby Gillespie got clean, Throb, for one reason or another, partly due to other, more toxic, influences in his life, didn't.

This can't be a nil thread. PS brought me much pleasure from their very early days up until XTRMNTR. Young's switch from bass to guitar after Jim Beattie's departure saw the band move from C86 jangle to the slide of "I'm Losing More Than I'll Ever Have", defining their sound before and after Screamadelica.

By all accounts, a top bloke and had time for everyone, lived the rock n roll dream and has apparently died as another victim of the rock n roll dream. RIP.
