The musical legacy of Star Trek

There are of course, the somewhat improbable recording histories of both Leonard Nimoy and William Shatner.

There's Star Trekkin by The Firm and Leonard Nimoy by Freaky Realistic. And I'm sure there are several more examples.

    Can we claim T'Pau?

I've just found two mixes (with links to the tracks used) with dance and hiphop that reference and sample Star Trek. I'm going to hold off linking just now in case it kills people suggesting things.

There's also the group S.P.O.C.K (Swedish group) who I remember doing a song called Dr McCoy. Wikipedia suggests they have done quite a few Star Trek related tunes but the Dr McCoy one is the only one I remember.

Turns out Nichelle Nichols recorded a couple of LPs too.

The Beastie Boys mention Spock in Intergalactic, and have in return featured in every one of the most recent movie franchise, with Kirk supposedly being a huge fan.
Not sure how much hearing Spock mentioned in Intergalactic would have fucked with his mind.
