This was an ambitious project by ARTE last Sunday, though presumably held over from last year's 250th anniversary due to Covid - all nine symphonies broadcast consecutively from nine different European cities, and with all the videos in concise chunks, even the casual music fan can dip in and out at their pleasure.

Yeah, I know! But I thought I'd set it up and give someone else the tap in .
Incidentally (and sorry DR, for slightly derailing the thread) I was teaching the children in my Year 3 class about the Danelaw a couple of months ago. We had a debate about who was the 'Greater' - Alfred or the Viking King Guthrum. The class argued in favour of Alfred whereas I used the classic Lucy counter-argument that Alfred couldn't be so great as he had never had his picture on a bubble gum card. Nowadays, 7 year olds are not overly familiar with bubble gum cards so they were, unfortunately, having none of it.
